Other skin conditions with symptoms similar to psoriasis
Several other conditions have symptoms similar to psoriasis, including:
- Fungal infections and bacterial infections.
- Allergic reactions of the skin, such as eczema.
- Intertrigo. Intertrigo is an inflammation of the skin caused by friction in folds of skin or places where skin touches skin, such as between the buttocks.
- Lichen planus.
- Lupus.
- Skin cancer.
Some medication reactions can cause symptoms similar to psoriasis. Talk to your doctor about what medications you are taking.
