Uterine rupture and repeat cesarean delivery
On rare occasion, women who have chosen to have a repeat cesarean delivery have a uterine rupture.
In one large study, the uterine rupture rate among women who chose a repeat cesarean without labor was 1.6 per 1,000 (0.16%), compared with 5.2 per 1,000 (0.52%) among women with spontaneous labor.1
