Who is affected by Paget's disease


Paget's disease is the second most common bone disease (osteoporosis is most common).1 Paget's disease:

  • Is found most often in people living in Europe or of European descent.
  • Occurs in 1% to 2% of people living in the United States and occurs equally in men and women.2
  • Most often affects people who are older than 50.3
  • Occurs in up to 10% of people older than 80 living in the United States.3 The risk of developing this disease increases as a person ages.
  • Is most common in whites and blacks but is rare in Asians.
