Rhinophyma is an uncommon form of rosacea that results in knobby bumps on your nose and cheeks. This can make your nose and face look swollen. Without treatment, rosacea can progress to rhinophyma.
The changes in the face caused by rhinophyma may become permanent. But most cases of rosacea do not progress that far.
